Q Invest has a nationally respected Board of Directors consisting of both independent and non-independent members.
The Board oversees the affairs of Q Invest and sets the framework for the organisation's long-term success. It assumes overall responsibility for corporate governance and has established systems to monitor compliance with policies, relevant legislation and standards of ethical behaviour.
Dale HennessyDale has been a director of Q Invest since its inception in 1994 and is now the independent Chairman.
Dale retired as the Executive Director of the Government Superannuation Office in Queensland in July 1997 after 28 years in the superannuation industry. Back to top >
Dr Douglas McTaggartDoug joined the Q Invest Board in 2001 and has extensive experience in consulting and academic positions. Prior to joining QIC in August 1998 as its Chief Executive, Doug was Under Treasurer and Under Secretary, Queensland Treasury and in that position served as a director of QIC.
Doug received First Class Honours in economics from the Australian National University, following which he undertook graduate studies at the University of Chicago.
Doug is a council member of QUT, a Trustee of CEDA and a member of CEDA's Research Advisory Board. He is also Chairman of the Investment and Financial Services Association (IFSA), a Councillor of the National Competition Council (NCC), a director of QIC Finance (Shopping Centre Fund) Pty Ltd and a director of a number of QIC subsidiary companies. Rosemary VilganRosemary is the Chief Executive Officer of the Government Superannuation Office and the Executive Officer of the QSuper Board. In this role, she oversees the Queensland Government's superannuation programme involving assets in excess of $20 billion.
Rosemary has received various community and academic awards and was named as one of Australia's most influential fund executives in 2001 and 2002.
Rosemary joined the Q Invest Board in 1997. She is also a director of the Association of Superannuation Funds of Australia of which she is a past Chair, a director of the Fund Executives Association LTD (FEAL) and a council member of QUT. Back to top >
Kenneth MacDonaldKen has been a partner of legal firm Allens Arthur Robinson since 1974 specialising in the areas of capital markets, competition law, energy, mergers & acquisitions and resources. Ken joined the Q Invest Board in 2001.
Ken is the Executive Partner of the Energy, Resources and Infrastructure Department, Queensland Practice Director and a Board Member of Allens Arthur Robinson. He is also the deputy chairman of QIC, a director of Queensland Biocapital Funds Pty Ltd, QIC Retail Pty Ltd and QIC Property Funds Pty Ltd. Back to top >
Stephen R RyanSteve is the President of the Queensland Teachers Union. He joined the Q Invest Board in 1997 and is a mathematics teacher, having taught at a number of Queensland schools since 1970.
Steve is a member of the Australian Education Union Superannuation Committee, Queensland Teachers Union representative on the Combined Public Sector Unions Superannuation Committee and a QSuper Trustee.
He is a member of the Ministerial Advisory Committee for Education Renewal and an Executive Member of the Queensland Council Unions. Back to top >
Patrick CunninghamPat was appointed director of Q Invest in February 2005. He has extensive experience in the financial services industry including business development roles for the Commonwealth Bank and treasury functions within the Australian European Finance Corporation.
Pat was previously employed by BT Australia for 15 years and has been a consultant to the financial services industry, primarily to independent groups and non-aligned accounting firms. Back to top >
Bill Danaher Bill was appointed General Manager of Q Invest in July 2002. Bill has over 20 years experience in the financial services industry with some of the leading institutions in the country. He has predominately worked in the areas of financial planning and retail banking, implementing new business operations and introducing innovative programs to improve customer service. Back to top >
