Kayak for a Cause - May 2010

On Friday 28th May, eight committed and motivated staff members from Queensland financial planning firm Q Invest took on a kayak challenge in order to raise money for The Prince Charles Hospital Foundation.

The staff members each kayaked between 12 and 50 kilometres, with some staff beginning the challenge at first light in order to complete the distance. All staff crossed the finish line at the Story Bridge at 4.30pm where they were cheered on by fellow staff members, clients and well wishers.

Kayaking against the tide throughout the morning and negotiating City Cats and ferries as they finished their journey, staff members raised over $1,500 for the Foundation, which will go towards the BiVACOR project - developing the world’s first fully implantable and self-sustaining artificial heart.
